Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. has joined the Deposit Insurance System maintained by Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) which is a state-owned corporation. On January 1, 2011, the insurance coverage limit was increased to NT$3 million. The coverage limit is the maximum amount of principal and accrued interest for each depositor at each insured institution covered by the deposit insurance which coverage includes deposits both in New Taiwan dollars and foreign currencies. All payouts made by CDIC are paid in New Taiwan dollars.
