About Postage StampsWhat are postage stamps?

Last updated:2023/06/29 Print
Postage stamps are considered a form of negotiable instrument. They are issued and sold by Chunghwa Post and used as evidence of postage paid. They are denominated in the currency of their place of origin.
Apart from indicating postage paid, stamps are also collected, exchanged or traded by stamp collectors.
Postage stamps lose their face value and can't be reused after being cancelled.
Postage stamps are not valid for use if they are mutilated, defaced, or coated with glue or other substance.
When stamps overlap on a cover, those partially covered by other stamps are invalid.
