1.Definition

"Future Mail" (Future Letter) is a service by our Company that allows the sender to "write to the future" by specifying the date and place of delivery, and the mail will be delivered to the recipient within the promised time frame.

Tips:
The term "Promise Time Frame" means that the mail is sent on the date specified by the customer and delivered to the recipient under the delivery time limit for each type of mail announced on the Company's website.

2.Designated delivery period (mail retention period)

Minimum 15 days, maximum: 30 years.

3. Applicable mail type:

(1) Domestic ordinary registered mail, registered small package, domestic parcel services (Service for prompt delivery registered mail, Speedpost Mail is not available, but a return receipt can be added)

(2) Domestic ordinary mail (including letters, postcards, printed matter, and small packages)

(3) Ordinary mail for international (including mainland China) areas.

4. Shipping Restrictions

(1) The shipping restrictions are the same as the current ones based on the mail type.

(2) Valuable items such as cash, gold and silver bullion, precious stone jewelry, and valuables should be sent by value-declared mail, with the declared value of each piece capped at NTD 50,000.

(3) Perishable mail items, items which cannot be stored at room temperature, and prohibited or dangerous items will not be accepted.

(4) We do not provide mailing receipts for ordinary mail.

7. Important Notes:

(1) Please do not send perishable items that cannot be stored at room temperature, or contains prohibited or dangerous items.

(2) In the event of loss of part or whole, theft or damage of Domestic Parcels, or total loss or theft of Domestic Registered Letter-post Items, the compensation shall be paid following the law, with each registered letter post item reaching NTD 575, and each parcel a minimum of NTD 575 and a maximum of NTD 1,155.

(3) Valuable items or important documents should be sent by Value-Declared Mail. In the event of loss, theft or damage of the value-declared mail, compensation shall be paid following the law. All or part of the value-declared mail shall be compensated, and the maximum value of each piece of value-declared mail shall not exceed NTD 50,000.

(4) Indemnity of delay in delivery shall follow the Postal Act and relevant provisions of the postal service regulations.

(5) The sender shall not file an indemnity claim for any of the matters as stipulated in Article 31 or 32 of the Postal Act.

(6) After the mail is properly delivered, you will be notified by email. If you do not leave an email upon mailing or do not wish to receive the notification when the mail is delivered, you will not be allowed to object in the future.

(7) Additional fees will be charged for small packets and parcels returned or redirected.

(8) If you apply for a change of mail information, the maximum number of changes during the mail custody period is 2, and the handling fee is NTD 15 per piece.

(9) All matters not specified in these instructions shall be handled per the Postal Act and the Company's postal service regulations.

8. The sender may apply for a change of item:

(1) Withdrawal of mail.

(2) Change of recipient's address.

(3) Change of sender's address.

(4) Change of recipient's and sender's contact numbers.

(5) Change of sender's e-mail.

(6) Change the designated delivery date.

9. Refund Instructions:

1.“Official Postage” will not be refunded once the warehouse entry has been received and deposited.

2.The "Special Handling Fee" is a one-time fee for special handling and warehousing at the counter and is non-refundable once the mailpiece is warehoused.

3.The "Custodian fee" is calculated based on the actual period of custody, and the remaining balance of the custodian fee will be returned without interest. If the period of custody is less than one year, the fee shall be charged for one year.

For example:

(1)For future mail that has been posted for more than 15 days and less than 3 years, if you apply for withdrawal of the mail during the custody period, no custodian fee will be refunded as no balance amount is available. No refund of any fee will be made.

(2)For domestic parcels with outer box size≦90cm within 10 years of the original delivery date, if you apply for withdrawal within 1 year after the date of posting, you will be refunded the balance amount of NTD 250 from the custodian fee (the current official postage and special handling fee will not be refunded).

10. Mail inquiry:

(1) If the sender or the recipient file an inquiry by means provided by the post office, the inquiry fee will be waived. But if the sender or the recipient applies for inquiry and reply by fax, the fax fee will be added. All post offices accept inquiries.

(2) The inquiry of registered mail must be accompanied by the relevant "mailing receipt", and the inquiry of future mail should be made within 6 months from the day after the "Posting Date" to the day after "Designated Delivery Date".

(3) If the inquiry exceeds 3 months after the "designated delivery date", the inquiry form should be sent to the respective delivery unit.
Tips:
The period of online track and trace service is 3 months from the day following the "designated delivery date". If you cannot find the mail information on our website, please proceed to the original mailing office for inquiry.

11.Indemnity:

(1) If registered mail is lost, stolen or damaged, it should be compensated and handled following the "Regulations Governing the Handling of Mail". However, the sender shall not claim compensation for any of the matters as stipulated in Article 31 or 32 of the Postal Act.

(2) Future mail posted for delivery by "domestic ordinary mail" is not subject to the provisions of the Postal Act regarding compensation or other compensation for registered mail.

(3) Delayed delivery of mail shall be compensated per the postal regulations and relevant provisions of postal service regulations.

12. If the sender dies after sending the future mail, its withdrawal and various change applications, inquiries, and compensation matters will be handled per the provisions of Succession under the Civil Code.

Postal Act Reference Provisions:

Article 29 -In the event that any of the following should happen to a mail item, the sender may lodge a claim with Chunghwa Post for compensation:

Loss of part or whole, theft or damage of a parcel, express mail, value-declared mail, or insured mail.

Total loss or theft of other types of registered mail items other than the ones provided in the preceding subparagraph.

Article 31- In the event that any of the following happens to the mail items listed under paragraph 1 of Article 29 hereof, there shall be no claim entertained:

1. Damage or loss due to the nature of or defects in the mail item.

2. Damage or loss caused by natural calamities or force majeure. For value-insured mail, these circumstances are limited to losses caused by war.

3. Loss or damage is incurred in the territory of a foreign country where postal services are not liable for compensation under the laws of that nation.

4. Where the item of mail is contraband or under the law may not be delivered through the post.

5. Where the damage or loss is a result of improper packaging, and the sender took no action to rectify the problem despite having been notified.

6. When the addressee has received the mail item without any objection.

Article 32 - When a mail item is delivered to the addressee or returned to the sender, it shall not be deemed damaged should there neither be loss of weight nor visible surface damage. Nor shall it be considered damaged when the weight reduction is due to the nature of the contents of the mail item.

When a mail item is delivered to the addressee or returned to the sender, should it have lost part or all of its value due to the lapse of time or market fluctuations, it shall not be deemed to have suffered any losses.
