Value-Declared Mail
Description:
A registered letter or parcel is viewed as "Value-Declared Mail" when the sender declares the value of the mailpiece and pays the value-declared fees for posting it for domestic delivery.
Shipping:
There are two types of value-declared letters: legal tender inserted and non-legal tender inserted.
The value declaration limit for a legal tender inserted letter is NTD 10,000 or less.
The value declaration limit for a non-legal tender inserted letter is NTD 50,000 or less.
For mixed mail delivery of legal tender and non-legal tender inserted letter, the limit is NTD 50,000 per value-declared letter, but the legal tender is limited to NTD 10,000.
Coins shall not be included in the value-declared letter.
Certificates, securities, deeds, bills of exchange, receipts, and all other documents of value may be sent in value-declared letters.

Insured Mail
Description:
A registered mail is called "Insured Mail" when the sender declares the insured value and pays the premium for posting it for delivery.
Shipping:
The sender should write the name and address of the sender on the cover of the insured letter and indicate the insured amount in Chinese financial characters, without any alteration. The maximum declared value is NTD 100,000 and shall not be exceeded. The value declared by the sender shall not exceed the actual value of the enclosed documents or articles, but the sender may choose to insure only a portion of the actual. In case of doubt about the contents of the insured mail, the post office may ask the sender to examine the contents item by item and seal the package with a premium seal at the seam and seal affixed by the sender.
